About Ivy's Legacy Foundation

Roots of Love. Branches of Hope.

I vy's Legacy Foundation, based in Sauk Centre, MN, received its  tax-exempt status in February 2015, but its roots reach back to 2009 with  an angel named Ivy Rose. Nicki and Aaron Vogt’s daughter, Ivy Rose, was born still at almost 33  weeks gestation. It was a shock. It was an absolute tragedy. But, thanks to  tremendous love and determination, Ivy’s story didn’t end there.

Nicki wanted to turn Ivy's life into something positive. She was  surrounded by so much love and support from family, friends, and the  community, she felt compelled to pass it on.  Team Ivy Rose was born. Made up of the Vogts' family and friends, the  group was formed to raise funds for the March of Dimes. “I formed Team Ivy Rose because I wanted to help prevent other people  from feeling the same loss,” said Vogt. “I needed a place to channel my  sadness and still, in some form, be a mother to Ivy.”

Since 2009, Team Ivy Rose raised more than $83,000 for the March of  Dimes, whose mission is to improve the health of babies by preventing  birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality. The majority of the  team’s donations came from local fundraising events.  Nicki and the group decided it was time to expand their reach while also helping families on a local level. Creating an autonomous non-profit  foundation was the logical next step, a move the members had been  considering over the years. “The decision to become our own non-profit is something that evolved  over time,” Nicki said. “The team wanted to be able to help a wider group  of people.”

Since then, Ivy's Legacy Foundation has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars given back right in our local communities!   We are truely hunble and thankful for the support.  However, true to the foundation’s namesake, helping babies, pregnant  women, and their families remains at the heart of its mission. And so, Ivy’s  Legacy lives on.

Ivy's Legacy Foundation: Empowering Communities

Join Ivy's Legacy Foundation in Changing Lives

We help families whome fallen upon hardships.  Families faced with real issues right here in Central Minnesota.

Whether it’s a financial donation for medical bills or funeral expenses, a grieving basket for parents who’ve lost a baby, a chemo basket to comfort a cancer patient, or a character experience for a child in need, Ivy’s Legacy Foundation finds a way to help local families when they need it most.  But we can’t do it alone.  We rely solely on the generosity of the amazing communities we serve. Our hope is that, through donations, we can extend our roots of love and branches of hope to even more families in our area who really need it.

Read on to learn more about who we are and how we help, and please consider a donation. It may even help someone you know.  There is no shortage of need, and Ivy’s Legacy Foundation needs YOU to spread more love, light and hope to the families of Minnesota.   Ways We Help

Grieving Baskets - Wanting to support area families experiencing the heartbreaking and many times unexpected loss of a baby from stillbirth or other newborn fatality, we began a program to supply the hospitals in Sauk Centre, Melrose and Paynesville with grieving baskets. Hospital staff are encouraged to offer these baskets to parents who are suffering the loss of a baby.

Financial Assistance - We provide financial assistance to families who have suffered the loss of a child, pregnancy complications, illness, house fires and more. Our funds can help pay for medical bills, travel expenses for medical care, funeral costs or even every day living expenses while experiencing a hardship.

Memorials - We have donated everything from trees to wind chimes to help families mark the life of a loved one.

Chemo Baskets - A little bit of comfort can go a long way to those suffering from cancer. Chemo Baskets help brighten the day of people fighting for their lives.   Photo Shoots - We provide portrait sessions for families with a very sick or terminally ill member.

Community Investment - We participate in Dollars for Scholars, ring the bell for the Salvation Army, donate to local benefits and adopt a family for the holidays.
